We all know those moments when we are required to travel. Whether its across oceans, lakes or maybe just a few puddles here and there, if we're taking a plane, we have to pack smartly. Long have we been tormented by the airline's rules for size of luggage, weight of luggage and contents of luggage.
With all these restrictions, how should we pack in the event of the flight cancellations, delays, misplaced checked luggage etc.?
Here are some notes to you, from me :) :
1) Stuff that Carry-on! - Air Canada allows one standard article (usually carry-on) and one personal article (usually a handbag or laptop bag), each given a maximum weight of 22lbs. Therefore, pack wisely! Depending on your length of trip, you can get away with just that but if not, and you require a checked luggage, use these to hold as many things as you need. It helps to maximize the amount of things you are able to bring on your trip and especially us ladies, we bring alot! So don't forget your external compartments and double-, triple-, quadruple-stacking (if you're that good)
2) Bring your essentials in your Carry-on - Use your carry-on for extra underwear and clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, phone chargers, make-up and extra batteries. You'll find having these items on hand very useful when dealing with a delay or cancellation and won't have that "Oh crap! those things are in my check-on luggage that I don't have with me!" moment.
3) Take a snack!- If you're like me and do not like spending $5 for a bottle of water at the airport or $10 for a burger, then you'd like to bring an equally delicious, probably more nutritious, less expensive snack from home to eat during your wait. But if you love airport food, go right ahead!
Hope you find these helpful!
Giselle.
